Unit is dirty, and you can see items hasn’t been touched in ages to be cleaned. I don’t know how establishments can be allowed to sell cooked food & have a place this dirty. I purchased some packaged items from the mini mart side, however items had to be thrown out as it had gone off its date. Would not recommend (even though I visited based on reviews I saw). Will not be visiting again.

JoyGems of Historic Miramar

This gem has organic local charm. It’s tidy w/ a solid selection of West Indian (i.e. Guyana, Trini, Jamaican) finds. Halal meats, unique fresh produce, spices & seasonings…plus more. It’s worth checking out the attached restaurant too. Love it!

Definitely a relaxed environment as soon as you walk in. Very good customer service with a smile. Food was prepared an ready quickly. Lunch Specials are great ? Parking spots are located in the front of the store.
My 2nd time here an the food gets better each time. I will return sooner than later ✌?

Roti- over the years, just as delicious, low salt, no pork, tasty, sugar cane sweetened natural drinks, more seat-in boots added, small inside, hard to find Caribbean products & vegetables on store next door which is accessible from the inside. The toilet is unisex and very small. If I were in a wheelchair I would never fit in there. Nice for the price, delicious Trinidadian fast foods. Fast service.

I heard about this place from a Trini friend of mine and decided to check it out on my day off to see if they carried the items I needed to make pholourie (a fried dough snack commonly eaten in the Caribbean).

Located along Pembroke Rd. in Miramar; S & A Caribbean Market is a small business, part market/restaurant, that carries various Caribbean items such as snacks, vitamins, beverages, grocery and baking items, seasonings, canned goods; and many more at very reasonable prices from Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, etc. There's also a section where you can get meat by the pound.

There was only one person running the market and he was very pleasant. When I told him about the items I was looking for, which was split pea flour, and tumeric powder, he was kind enough to show me where the items was located.

I didn't get the chance to venture through the restaurant because I had less than an hour before the business closed, but my Trini friend told me they make good roti so I got to come back to try some. I will also return to purchase other island items.

We ordered dal pouri, hot sauce, channa, and baigan choka. Baigan choka was out of the world! So authentic exactly as Indian cuisine style. Dal pouri was so good, dal stuffing was evenly spread. I would highly recommend this place.

From the time I walk in the restaurant it smells and the owner don’t wear hair net she have on long nails and cooking that’s so unsanitary plus they selling expired stuff?
